Not long ago, Israel preferred to stay on the sidelines. He often chose not to participate in activities and kept to himself. Today, his story tells a very different—and inspiring—chapter.
Through KenCCID’s person-centered approach, Israel has been encouraged to explore activities that match his interests while setting goals that are meaningful to him. With support from our dedicated team, he has become an active and enthusiastic member of the KenCCID community.
Over the past several months, Israel has embraced a wide variety of opportunities. He regularly attends Advisory Board meetings, where he shares his thoughts and connects with peers. He enjoys expressing his creativity during arts and crafts classes with Miss Ally, participates in golf outings, and has taken part in memorable community experiences like the Spirit of Philadelphia cruise.
Israel has also made his health and wellness a priority by participating in gym activities. Staying active has helped him build confidence, increase his independence, and develop healthy routines that contribute to his overall well-being.
Perhaps most importantly, these experiences have helped Israel form new friendships, strengthen his social skills, and discover activities that bring him genuine happiness. He is more engaged, more confident, and more connected to the people and community around him.
Israel’s journey is a wonderful reminder of what can happen when individuals are given opportunities, encouragement, and support that are tailored to their unique interests and goals. Every milestone—big or small—is worth celebrating.
