My name is Jacqueline Griffin but most people call me Jackie/Jacqui. I was born and raised in Philadelphia. My KenCCID experience is an interesting one. I have had an incredible pathway here. First, I had worked at other places before joining KenCCID in July 1988. Looking over my experiences, I must honestly say that until I came here, I didn’t realize how rewarding it is to support and serve individuals with special needs. I was first hired as a client care worker which is known today as a DCP.
Oh my, what a wonderful decision did I make to join the KenCCID family. I went through the training process with ease and as I was going through my probationary period, I realized how rewarding it was to serve and support our individuals. To see the smiles on their faces when one would gave them what they wanted or asked for, was very rewarding. After my probation, I was automatically eligible for health care benefits and accrued leave time as well. At the time, I didn’t require the health benefits available as I was already covered, and KenCCID gave me a $70.00 check monthly as long as I was covered. I was also informed about many other opportunities.
I quickly got adjusted to my job duties and felt accepted and part of the KenCCID Family. I believe in the saying that “you reap what you sow”. For me, I started doing my duties and even going beyond. So just a year later, I got promoted to the position of Residential Program Supervisor which position I served until 2001 at which time I was promoted again to the position of Quality Assurance Residential Director. I faithfully served in this capacity until in 2010. I made a lateral move to the position of Quality Assurance Coordinator until 2013 where I was assigned to the position of Risk Quality Specialist until November 2016 at which time I was assigned the position of Incident Manager until present.
No matter the position, it was and continues to be rewarding as whatever the role I am serving and supporting the individuals that are in KenCCID’s care.
