M. Lisa Hollingsworth

“To Whom Much is Given, Much Will Be Required” (Luke 12:48).

This is the growth mindset of M. Lisa Hollingsworth.

From the four walls of the classroom to the global stage, M. Lisa has demonstrated strategic leadership and vision for those with special needs. Her vision remains the same today – fighting for those most vulnerable in our society. M. Lisa brought her wealth of experience supporting students with special needs, as well as her focus on advocacy when she joined the KenCCID Board in 2021. KenCCID’s mission is to promote dignity and choice to empower Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities to reach their full potential.

M. Lisa is a 20-year Veteran Educator whose expertise is in Urban Special Education. M. Lisa’s is committed to serving and supporting Individuals with Disabilities, At-Risk Youth, and Returning Citizens – The Formerly Incarcerated.

Her career started in the classroom as a Special Education Teacher. She then moved into the Special Education Coordinator position, where she developed academic and behavioral intervention workshops for parents of students with disabilities.

M. Lisa’s impact grew beyond the walls of the classroom to entire school systems as she stepped into roles of increasing responsibility. M. Lisa has served as an Assistant Principal Special Education and Supervision, Reading Intervention Coordinator, and Director of Special Education where she led the strategic adoption of school-wide policies to provide the best support to students with special needs.

She now serves as Advocacy Lead for the United Nations Association of the United States of America (UNA-USA). There, she leads the efforts to ensure that the US pulls its weight and pays its share on the world stage.

M. Lisa is an Alumni of Lincoln University ‘99, the revered HBCU in Pennsylvania. She holds three Graduate Education Degrees from Mercy College, NY. She has successfully completed Executive Leadership Programs with both the RELAY Graduate School of Education and the University of Pennsylvania.

Her hobbies include hiking, cooking, reading, and volunteering. M. Lisa loves taking in rescue animals and recently adopted two kittens, named Amber and Ayyan.
