At KenCCID, we believe every individual deserves the opportunity to be heard, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.
One of the biggest misconceptions surrounding individuals with disabilities is the belief that they cannot lead, advocate, or influence change within their communities.
Sara is proof that this simply is not true.
Sara enjoys many of the same things — going to the movies, participating in arts and crafts, attending cooking classes, and spending time with friends. But beyond her hobbies and interests, Sara has become a strong and respected voice within the KenCCID community.
For more than 10 years, Sara has been actively involved with KenCCID, building friendships, participating in programs, and encouraging others to get involved and speak up for themselves. Her confidence, bold personality, and willingness to advocate for others have made her a natural leader among her peers.
Today, Sara proudly serves as the President of the KenCCID Advisory Board, where she helps ensure the wishes, goals, and voices of individuals receiving services are represented and respected by both leadership and supporters throughout the organization.
Sara is highly active in advocating for individuals at job fairs, community events, and public activities. She is always open to learning new things despite the challenges she may face. Her determination, outspoken nature, and passion for inclusion continue to inspire those around her.
Her leadership reminds us that advocacy comes in many forms. Sometimes it begins simply with being given the opportunity to speak, participate, and be included.
At KenCCID, empowerment means more than providing services. It means helping individuals discover their voice, build confidence, develop leadership skills, and become active participants in shaping their own futures.
With the right support, encouragement, and opportunities, individuals with disabilities have become:
- Leaders
- Advocates
- Mentors
- Decision-makers
- Changemakers within their communities
Sara’s story is a reflection of what becomes possible when individuals are supported, encouraged, and truly listened to.
The Importance of Our Stakeholders

Our Individuals
The individuals who come to KenCCID for services and supports are at the center of everything we do. Their goals, dreams, growth, and well-being guide our mission every single day.
Families
Families are a vital part of the support system. We believe families should feel welcomed, involved, and connected to their loved one’s life at KenCCID.
Our Community
Community support helps improve quality of life and creates opportunities for inclusion, independence, and meaningful experiences.
Our Funders and Supporters
Organizations, agencies, donors, and private citizens help make these services possible. Their support allows KenCCID to continue delivering essential programs and life-changing opportunities for individuals and families.
Our Employees
KenCCID employees create the caring, family-like environment we are known for. Many staff members have dedicated years of service to supporting individuals with compassion, dignity, and respect.
