These experiences help keep her active, connected, and engaged in the world around her while also building confidence, friendships, and independence.

Part of that connection comes from opportunities like KenCCID’s Advisory Board — a welcoming forum where individuals can share their thoughts, ideas, concerns, and goals in a supportive environment. The Advisory Board encourages individuals to take an active role in shaping their lives while ensuring their voices are heard throughout the organization.
The board was created to empower individuals receiving services to openly discuss what matters most to them and help strengthen person-centered care throughout KenCCID. Members elect their own officers each year, creating leadership opportunities and encouraging self-advocacy.
Beyond leadership, the Advisory Board also creates opportunities for friendships, activities, laughter, and community — something that reflects the heart of KenCCID’s mission.
