Transformation Award – Transforming Lives

Transformation Awards

Recognition Matters

We all know how good it feels when we’re recognized for our hard work. At KenCCID, the work we do supports individuals with disabilities on a daily basis. This work can be especially challenging since we live in a society where adequate support systems tend to be lacking.

It is our employees who make it possible for us to live out KenCCID’s mission – to promote dignity and choice to empower Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities reach their full potential. Today, we’re taking a moment to honor four of our outstanding KenCCID employees for fulfilling our mission.

These employees have been recognized by the City of Philadelphia for the Points of Transformation Awards. The Points of Transformation Awards ceremony is hosted by the Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services(DBHIDS). DBHIDS provides services through a network of agencies in collaboration with the Philadelphia School District, child welfare and judicial systems, and other stakeholders.

The Transformation Award ceremony is an opportunity to celebrate the contributions of direct service professionals who support individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or autism. These professionals exemplify the motto “It’s all about community!” The ceremony shines the spotlight on dedicated professionals who help people with intellectual disabilities and/or autism gain independence in the communities where they live and work.

The Habilitation Award goes to Stacey Cain

This year, KenCCID is proud to recognize Stacey Cain. She won the Habilitation Award. KenCCID is also proud to recognize Nurse Hawa Sarnor, winner of the Treatment Staff Award. This award recognizes health care professionals who work with individuals and staff focusing on first aid, healthy foods, weight loss, diabetes care, exercise, and behavioral triggers.
