KenCCID Attends The Alliance’s 40th Annual Breakfast

Advocacy in Action

Advocating for Individuals. Building Partnerships. Strengthening Communities.

On May 15, 2026, members of the KenCCID team proudly attended the 40th Annual Breakfast hosted by The Alliance of Community Service Providers at The Logan Hotel in Philadelphia.

Celebrating 40 years of service, advocacy, and impact, the annual event brought together providers, community leaders, legislators, advocates, and professionals dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, mental health conditions, and substance use disorders.

The Alliance of Community Service Providers serves as a powerful voice for human service organizations throughout the Philadelphia region, promoting quality services, collaboration, advocacy, workforce development, and public awareness. Their mission closely aligns with KenCCID’s commitment to empowering individuals and building stronger communities through person-centered support and meaningful opportunities.

This year’s breakfast featured keynote speaker Tiffany Tavarez, Vice President of Community Impact and Strategic Partnerships for Jefferson’s Office of Community Health & Impact. Her presentation, “Live and Lead Your Life with C.A.R.E.,” inspired attendees to lead with compassion, purpose, and a commitment to serving others.

The event also recognized outstanding public servants whose work has strengthened communities throughout Pennsylvania. Congressman Dwight Evans received The Alliance’s Lifetime Achievement Award for his decades of public service and advocacy, while Pennsylvania State Senator Vincent Hughes was honored with the Social Justice Warrior Award for his leadership in education, healthcare, affordable housing, and community development.

For KenCCID, the breakfast provided an important opportunity to advocate for the individuals we support, connect with elected officials, and strengthen relationships with fellow providers who share our commitment to inclusion, dignity, and quality services.

One of the highlights of the morning was the opportunity for KenCCID team members to meet and take a photo with State Senator Vincent Hughes, while additional members of our staff enjoyed connecting with fellow advocates and community leaders throughout the event.

Events like The Alliance Breakfast remind us that advocacy extends beyond our programs and services. By engaging with policymakers, collaborating with providers, and sharing the stories of the individuals we support, we help ensure that the voices of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities continue to be heard.

We are grateful to The Alliance of Community Service Providers for hosting another successful event and for their continued leadership in advancing community-based services and supports.

As KenCCID continues its mission of empowering individuals and building stronger communities, we remain committed to advocating for the rights, opportunities, and quality of life of every person we serve.
