What is dyslexia?

The International Dyslexia Association defines dyslexia as, “a language-based learning disability”.

“Dyslexia refers to a cluster of symptoms, which result in people having difficulties with specific language skills, particularly reading.”

Many people are first diagnosed with dyslexia as children, when they first learn how to read.

For many, however, their symptoms go undiagnosed.

Although there is no cure for dyslexia, support from therapists and specially trained teachers allow individuals with dyslexia to learn and grow at their own pace.

At KenCCID, we work with individuals with disabilities everyday.

Their joys.

Their struggles.

Their attempts to fit into a society not designed for them.

All are welcome here.

Please consider making a gift to KenCCID so that we can continue our mission to support individuals with disabilities to reach their full potential.
